The franchise ‘fast & furious‘ (in Spain translated as ‘A todo gas’, for the revelry of all of Latin America united) began as a film of tuning and illegal races, and has led to a saga of more than 10 films (including some of the most best action movies in movie history) with international spies, planes, tanks, submarines and even spaceships starring in the most exaggerated and best movie action scenes of the last 20 years.

‘Full throttle’ (not to be confused with Peret’s ‘Love at full throttle’) and the video game ‘Need for speed’ implanted a tuning fever in the early 2000s that still kicks in redoubts like the Fabrik parking lot, with a reggaeton aesthetic that the character of Dominic TorettoVin Diesel He has kept it as if it were his superhero costume. Before the saga housed several of The best action movies of the 21st centuryDiesel disappeared for the sequel, which featured the already ex-FBI agent Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker)and was replaced by Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson)and the third installment directly changed characters and settings with a completely new story set in Japan, with Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) and Han (Sung Kang) as protagonists.

The saga seemed dead, but then Justin Lin insisted with a continuation recovering the original protagonists Dom, Brian, Han, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Mia (Jordana Brewster), and forever transforming the franchise into a string of international conspiracies, best car chasesmeaningless explosions and a constant challenge to the laws of gravity, physics and, sometimes, the absurd.

This caused the first spin-off’ of the ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ sagacentered on the rivalry between the characters of Johnson and Jason Statham, united against the common enemy of Idris Elba.

Dwayne Johnson will not return in ‘Fast X’, the tenth installment of the adventures of Toretto and companybut it didn’t take them long to find two replacements to match: Jason Momoa Y Brie Larson.

Be supposed to number 11 will be the last of the franchise, although the spin-offs will surely continue to expand their universe. Diesel stated that “This franchise was born from the pavement, from the cement. It’s the world that has turned these misfits into champions and brought them to a place that far surpasses many other franchises. But This franchise has a soul, and that soul has to rest”. Will he comply? For how long?

Although the chronological order of the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies shouldn’t be a problem at first Han’s character and his “death” in the third installment caused a time mismatch which makes it take place in the future for a good part of the saga.
