It takes a month for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania premiere worldwide and prior to this, Marvel Studios has released a new image of its long-awaited production. The released photo focuses on Kang the Conqueror, the villain of the upcoming film, who will be played by Jonathan Majors.

It was through the recent issue of the magazine Empire that the photo was released in which you can see a little more about Kang’s personality, as a character who is willing to get more and more power to dominate his world and other universes. In the story, the villain will not only have to face superheroes, he will also have to fight against different versions of him that exist in other alternate realities.

In the photograph shown, the villain is seen, with a different suit from the one that had been seen before. Also, the character is sitting on what appears to be a golden throne. He looks thoughtful, with his eyes lowered, his eyes closed and his fist clenched.

Keving Feige, head of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (UCM) explained to the medium that Kang was the obvious choice for phase 5 of the Multiverse. The executive explained that the new character will allow Marvel to delve into a new story model: “he is a different type of villain, who fights among themselves as much as he does with our heroes. He’s the obvious choice since you’re dealing with the multiverse.”

Speaking about his role as a supervillain, Jonathan Majors told the magazine that director Peyton Reed mentioned Alexander the Great as a point of reference when they discussed the film. The actor pointed out that Kang will bring more plurality to the feature film, promising a different style to the new stage of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “Kang adds tonal diversity, real conflict, and real friction. There is conflict, not just mano a mano, not just hero and villain, but ‘your way of life’ and ‘my way of life’”.

Kang the Conqueror isn’t the only villain to terrorize in the upcoming movie Ant-Man. The recently released trailer has given fans a glimpse of MODOK, also known as the mental organism designed only for killing. The character’s design is also notable among comic book fans as it is a massive head with tiny limbs that is carried around on a throne.
