Bob Odenkirk, the actor of “Better Call Saul”, already has his new series

This series follows the exploits of an unlikely president at an underfunded university in Pennsylvania’s industrial belt. In addition, the protagonist faces the mid-life crisis. (AMC)

Just six months ago Bob Odenkirk said goodbye to his successful character Saul Goodman in the drama Better Call Saul and now the actor is about to launch his next project. Is about lucky hank AMC’s new show that will hit American television on March 19 and whose first trailer has been shown by the television network.

In the clip, Odenkirk’s character is seen saying that: “I have always been a difficult man. I specialize in minor conflicts and petty irritations. That’s my way.” This project has been described as a “midlife crisis story” that takes place on a fictional college campus in the Pennsylvania Rust Belt. Bob plays William Henry “Hank” Devereaux Jr., the fussy chair of the university’s English department. Aaron Zelmann (Dangers) and Paul Lieberstein (The office) adapted the series from the novel straight man by Richard Russo and serve as co-showrunners.

Told in the first person by William Henry Devereaux Jr. (Odenkirk), lucky hank follows the exploits of an unlikely president at an underfunded university in a Pennsylvania industrial field. She also stars Mireille Enos (The Killing) as Lily, William’s wife and the vice principal of the local high school. Just as Hank’s life begins to unravel, Lily also begins to question the path he’s on and the choices she’s made.

In addition to Enos, this production includes actors such as Oscar Núñez (The office), who plays Dean Jacob Rose, Tom Bower (Ray Donovan) as the protagonist’s divorced father, William Henry Devereaux Sr. Also cast are Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) as Dickie Pope, the president of the university and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), who plays Lily’s ex, Tom Leska.

This production is based on the novel written in 1997 by Richard Russo entitled straight man, Originally the series would be called in this way. Russo is recognized worldwide for winning a Pulitzer Prize for his writing. Empire Falls. The original book followed Devereaux, an anarchist, over the course of an increasingly chaotic week as he battles angry colleagues. He suspects his wife is cheating on him with the dean, while he battles his own attraction to a young adjunct professor. He reflects on his time, his relationship with his father, and faces constant reminders of his own mortality.

The first season of the upcoming television show will consist of eight episodes that will be released weekly. The debut chapter will be released on May 7. Aaron Zelmann ( Silicon Valley ) and Paul Lieberstein ( The office ), who adapted the project from Russo’s novel, are serving as co-showrunners. For his part, Zelman, Lieberstein, Odenkirk, the director Peter Farrelly (Green Book), Mark Johnson (breaking bad, Better Call Saul)Naomi Odenkirk and Marc Provissiero are the executive producers.
