There will be 10 projects (five films and five series) that will be released between 2025 and 2027, with a view to expanding it from an eight-year plan to a decade.

Finally, it seems that the rumors about what will happen to other established franchises are finally cleared up. Everything indicates that Aquaman (Jason Momoa) Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) Shazam! (Zachary Levi) and Flash (Ezra Miller) they will be taken into account for this new universe, along with the actors who play them.

“There is no reason why any of the characters or the actors who play those characters are not part of the DCU. There is nothing that prevents that from happening… We will incorporate characters from the past, but above all we will interpret them againspecified James Gunn.

Blue Beetle With Xolo Maridueña, he says, he has his own world but he will fit in with this DCU. In the meantime, batman by Robert Pattinson and joker Joaquin Phoenix, they will continue to be alternate properties to the universe they are making up, that is, they will take place outside of the DCU. They will bear the label DC Elseworlds as in the comics, which is attributed to the characters’ stories taking place in times and places other than the original continuity.

Films

Superman–Legacy: It will be released on July 11, 2025 and James Gunn defines it as the beginning of the DCU. However, it won’t be an origin story for the superhero; rather the plot will focus on the character trying to balance his Kryptonian heritage with his human lifestyle, which is what he has grown up with. Gunn writes the story and it is said that he could direct the film (although it is not confirmed).

The Authority: The aforementioned Superman movie will also serve as an introduction to this team of antiheroes created in the late 90s by Warren Ellis for Wildstorm (owned by DC Comics). The team is known for operating under an ‘ends justify the means’ philosophy, which is why their methods of saving the world are highly unorthodox.

The Brave and The Bold: It will be the DCU version of Batman and one of its characteristics is that the concept of the bat-family will be taken up again. In addition to Bruce Wayne as the iconic ‘Bat Man’, the first member to be introduced is Robin, under the identity of Damian Wayne (Bruce’s son who the latter didn’t meet for almost 10 years).

Supergirl – Woman of Tomorrow: will be based on the comic of the same name published between 2021 and 2022, with Superman’s cousin as the protagonist. However, it is described as a hard story because the heroine, unlike her cousin who was sent to Earth as a baby and sheltered by a loving family, she grew up on a fragment of a Kryptonian rock watching her loved ones die during his first 14 years of life.

Swamp Thing: will return to one of the lesser-known characters in DC comics, its origin will be detailed, and above all, Gunn emphasizes that it will be a movie attached to horror.

DCU Series

Creature Commandos: will be an animated series based on the team of heroes whose comic first came to light in 1980. The show is already in production. However, Variety reports that the story on TV is likely to be different from the original. In the comics, Frankenstein’s monster formed a team to fight against Nazis in World War II. Sources say the series will have Weasel as Suicide Squad (2021) as one of the commandos, along with Rick Flag Sr. The voice actors will also play the characters in their live-action version when they appear in other DCU installments.

Waller: spin-off of peacemaker (from which the second season has been temporarily suspended) that will focus on Amanda Waller, starring Viola Davis. It is expected that both Waller What Creature Commandos is released before Superman: Legacy.

lanterns: With this series, the production commanded by Greg Berlanti is cancelled. However, lanterns will introduce us to the two best-known Green Lanterns in history – Hal Jordan and John Stewart – as they investigate the mystery that will connect all the independent stories of the DCU. They define it as a superhero version of true detective.

Paradise Lost: James Gunn details it as a series in the style of game of Thrones about the kingdom of Themyscira, the place of origin of Wonder Woman. It will be a kind of prequel located before the birth of the mentioned superheroine.

Booster Gold: It will be the most comical series of the DCU focused on Mike Carter, a former athlete from the 25th century who uses the technology of his time (a time machine in the Metropolis Space Museum) to return to the past and pose as a superhero.
