“Sharper”, the next film with Julianne Moore, already has an official trailer

One of the most anticipated projects of the year is Sharper, the upcoming feature film with Julianne Moore. The film which also stars Oscar nominee John Lithgow and Sebastian Stan released an intriguing new trailer. The film is directed by Golden Globe and Emmy winner Benjamin Caron (The Crown). The production will have a limited release in theaters in the United States on February 10 and, finally, will reach the Apple TV + service on the 17th of the same month.

Caron received good feedback last year for his work directing Andor and now he returns to lead this new story, a movie neo noir set in New York City. The filmmaker planned this plot together with his production partner and sister, Jodie Caron. Although the details of this title have been revealed little by little since the project was announced in July of last year, the advance shows how intrigue and lies will be a fundamental part.

In the video, he can be seen as actor Sebastian Stan (Falcon and the Winter Soldier) will play Max, a clever con man known for carrying out intricate schemes and using intricate methods to steal large sums of money. His character will be involved in a problem that will force him to join the protagonist and work together on a new robbery. Along with them, also as part of the cast are Justice Smith and Briana Middleton.

“Nobody is what they seem, in a thriller full of secrets and lies, set in the bedrooms, bars and boardrooms of New York City. The characters compete for riches and power in a game of great risk and ambition, greed, lust and jealousy that will keep the public in suspense until the final moment”, is how it is described Sharpera drama Moore also produces with her husband, Bart Freundlich, and Erik Feig.

This is Julianne Moore’s second collaboration with the production company A24, since she previously starred in When You Finish Saving the World with Finn Wolfhard (stranger things). That movie is directed by Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) and premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival to positive reception. A date for its release has not yet been announced.

In an interview granted to People, Director Benjamin Caron spoke about what it was like to work with the cast: “Every single one of them brought a lot of wit and soul to this script. Working with Julianne was a dream. I have admired her work on screen for a long time and she is so confident. Sebastian brings a mercurial and dangerous energy to her role, and Justice breaks your heart in the best way. Briana is a star in the making. I’m excited for people to know her name. John Lithgow brings gravitas to every scene.”

In that sense, he added that the feature film is inspired by a long list of great films that he grew up with and that the public loves. Some of them are Common Suspects, Playhouse, The Thomas Crown Affair Y the color of money.

Sharper It will hit US theaters on February 10 and, a week later, it will be available on the Apple TV+ catalog. Before it premieres in streaming, you can enjoy other Moore productions such as Gloria Bell on Netflix and Always Alice on HBO Max.
