Steven Spielberg has been considered one of the pioneers of Hollywood. In his decades-long career, he has delivered many masterpieces in different genres – starting from the shark attack film ‘Jaws’ to telling the heartwarming story of an alien ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’ and much more. Steven has once again become the chatter of the whole world with his biographical film ‘The Febelsman’. The frontrunner of the award season has already scored nominations at some prestigious awards and recently Steven took home another Golden Globe trophy for his coming-of-age drama.

Jaws

Steven Spielberg delivered the masterpiece in 1975. If you watch it today, the film might feel a little outdated, but take a moment and think about the time when it was released. The film, based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley,  starred Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw bond revolved around three people, who together hunt down the man-eating white shark. The thriller film was the first major motion film to be shot on the ocean and has often been considered one of North America’s first summer blockbusters. Steven’s film becomes the first film to earn $100 million at the box office.

Schindler’s List

After entertaining the audience with his thrilling, suspenseful dramas, Steven Spielberg delivered the film that went on to become a classic. The 1993 American historical period drama, was based on ‘Schindler’s Ark’ by Australian novelist Thomas Keneally, followed the story of Oskar Schindler, a German businessman, who is a womaniser, and heavy drinker, but he becomes concerned about the Polish-Jewish refugees and saves thousands of people. The film with a hard-hitting message went on to become one of the greatest movies of all time.

The Purple Colour

‘The Purple Colour’ is a film that will leave a long-lasting imprint on your mind. In this film, Steven Spielberg told the story of a black African-American woman, who has been abused ever since her birth – first, by her father then by her husband. The film follows the forty years of Celie’s life, played by Whoopi Goldberg, until the day she gets reunited with her sister in Africa.

Catch Me If You Can (319079)

The cat-and-mouse game between Tom Hanks and Leonardo Di Caprio will keep you hooked from the first frame to the last. After a long while, Steven delivered something that was light, comedy and fun to watch. The movie told the story of a witty con man Frank Abagnale, who is performing con around America and FBI agent Carl Hanratty, who got obsessed with him as he works on his case. 

The film was a critical and commercial success.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

Steven Spielberg delivered the most magical movie of his decades-long career – ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’. The film concept came from Spielberg’s imaginary friend, which he created after his parent’s divorce. The movie revolves around the sweet alien, who has been mistakenly left alone by his family on Earth. Later, he befriends a young boy named Elliott played by Henry Thomas, who helps him contact his planet. The heartwarming story of an alien and a young boy was quick to impress the audience. 

The film shattered all box office records and become one of the highest-grossing movies of all time.
