The first week of 2023 arrives with highlights premieres to streaming platforms. Whether you’re a fan of horror, comedy, or science fiction, on-demand services offer a fair amount of choice for their subscribers.
In Netflix The new series based on the successful novel by Elena Ferrante arrives: The lying life of adults. The story follows Giovanna, a 12-year-old girl who lives in Naples in the 90s, and who seeks to discover the mystery that her parents hide. It all begins after Giovanna hears her father say that she is ugly and that she looks like her aunt Vittoria, with whom she quickly becomes obsessed and insists on meeting that woman that her family has so much hate.
Another of the expected premieres of Netflix is the crimes of the academy (The Pale Blue Eye). This horror thriller directed by Scott Cooper tells the story of veteran detective Augustus Landor (Christian Bale), who recruits a young Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling) to investigate a series of murders. The film also features performances by Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Toby Jones, Robert Duvall, Timothy Spall, and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
