“Tomb Raider” will have a new version on Prime Video

After the failure that the film represented in 2018 Tomb Raider: The Adventures of Lara Croft, it would seem that the future of this character’s story would be buried for several more years. However, Prime Video has given the green light to a series of projects that will include movies, series and video games that seek to connect with each other.

Amazon has commissioned a television adaptation of the hit video game series tomb Raiderwhich will be written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who this year will appear in Indiana Jones 5: The Call of Fate. Until now it is known that the also actress will not give life to the protagonist and she will only be in the production part.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the agreement between PlayStation Y Prime Video seeks to expand the character’s universe and includes at least one video game and one new feature film. The report states that the plan is to build, and expand, a connected world of franchise Tomb Raider with television series, feature films and video games, depending on the success obtained.

It was detailed that it is desired to interconnect all these stories in a way similar to that used by Marvel with its Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which has seen intertwined stories through various formats, including film and television.
