Avatar: The Sense of Water introduces a new conglomerate of characters, in addition to bringing back the main protagonists of the first installment released in 2009. James Cameron has expanded the number of Na’vi leading the history of Pandora by adding new artists to his ranks. In the meantime, it can be difficult to identify the artist that plays each character, and that is why in this article we are going to do a kind of who’s who with the most important characters. Thus, we will focus on those who, in one way or another, may have a prominent role and are masked under the tons of CGI with which the person responsible for titanic has smeared his new show visual.
All main characters and their actors/actresses
Jake Sully-Sam Worthington
The absolute protagonist of James Cameron’s story, both in the first installment and in the second. Worthington is one of the most recognizable faces within the cast of characters, along with Sigourney Weaver. Sully is now a family man who must face, once again, the terrible Colonel Miles Quaritch, turned into Na’vi in the aftermath.
Neytiri – Zoe Saldaa

Jake’s mate and the mother of his children. Neytiri is once again played by Zoe Saldaa, a versatile actress specialized in getting under kilos of makeup, offering performances that are to be framed. Her role here is more reduced than in the first installment, but even so, her contributions are still worth gold.
Colonel Miles Quaritch – Stephen Lang

The terrifying soldier who wants Jake Sully’s hair at any cost. Lang returns after losing his life in the first Avatar. That’s right, now he’s a bit changed because he seems to have the same appearance as Sully. What could have happened to him?
Kiri-Sigourney Weaver

Sigourney Weaver also repeats in the sequel, although in a different way. She is no longer that prestigious doctor who wanted to save Pandora from the human invasion, she is a young woman, the daughter of Jake and Neytiri, who seems to have a strong connection with Eywa and with the nature that surrounds the Na’vi.
Ronald – Kate Winslet

The matriarch of the Metkayina, the new type of Na’vi that we see in Avatar 2 who have a special relationship with water, is played by Kate Winslet. The artist, who has worked with Cameron in the past on projects like Titanic, is especially good as Ronal showing strong character.
Tonowari – Cliff Curtis

Tonowari is the leader of the Metkayina and Ronal’s partner. Unlike Jake Sully, he has a calmer personality and doesn’t look for conflict at all. Well, only when they don’t touch his loved ones, from there things change.
Neteyam – Jamie Flatters

Neteyam, the eldest son of Jake and Neytiri, has quite an important weight in the feature film. Although the children of the different protagonists come out from under the stones, each one of them contributes something important to the plot.
Lo’ak – Britain Dalton

The second son of the protagonists. Unlike Neteyam, Lo’ak is a bit more of a hooligan and doesn’t like to stick to the rules, which causes the Sullys to find themselves in trouble on more than one occasion.
Tuk – Trinity Bliss

The little one of the Sully that we are sure will have a tremendous development throughout the saga. James Cameron has to save new meat for future sequels, and Tuk will certainly be a main course in the future.
Tsireya – Bailey Bass

One of the daughters of Ronal and Tonowari who works as a point of union between the Metkayina and the Sully family. As in the case of Tuk, these new characters will gradually develop throughout the saga.
