When Disney decided to adapt several Winnie the Pooh stories written by Alan Alexander Milne, his intention was to give the bear a cuddly and friendly personality, as well as being a lover of honey who leading a group of other animals, in addition to Christopher Robin, with different personalities.
However, the tenderness of the classic character disappears in “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” (Winnie the Pooh: Honey and Blood), the new film based on the character that shows a different facet, bloodier and thirsty for revenge against the family of Christopher Robinwho in other versions is his friend, but who is now his target.
However, not everyone is happy with the “gore” and “hardcore” version of the character, showing their rejection of the tape or going so far as to threaten the director with death.
THE CONTROVERSY OVER “WINNIE THE POOH: BLOOD AND HONEY”
As recalled, the character’s rights have become public domain, so many creators can use their characteristics in their productions, something that did Rhys Waterfield decided to create a bloody version.
The film follows a basic structure of the slasher subgenre, a group of university students are murdered one after another at the hands of two evil beings: Winnie the Pooh (Craig David Dowsett) and Pigglet (Chris Cordell)whose kind personalities have degenerated after being abandoned by Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon).
Now, both animals have returned to their wild roots, hunting other beings or just killing everyone for the sheer pleasure.
It should be noted that, despite having the little pig and the bear, the controversial film lacks other characters from the Hundred Acre Wood, so Igor or Tigger do not appear in the story.

However, the actress has also made it clear that if the film has had the success and stir that it currently has, it is due to the angry reaction of her own detractors.
“We’ve gotten a lot of hate, I’m not going to lie, but the haters have made the movie what it is because everyone is talking about it.”, he sentenced.
